Avatar has a new lead, a damaged world and a very different idea of what its hero represents. Avatar: Seven Havens premiered on Paramount+ on October 9, 2026, with the first three episodes of Book 1. On the same day, the franchise’s creators confirmed that the series will continue into Books 3 and 4.
For anyone returning after The Legend of Korra, the biggest change is the position of the Avatar. Pavi, the young Earthbender at the centre of Seven Havens, inherits the role in a world that has learned to fear it. That gives the new series an immediate question to work with: how do you help people who believe you are the problem?
A New Avatar After Korra
Seven Havens takes place after Korra, following a devastating cataclysm that has left civilisation struggling to survive. The title refers to its remaining strongholds, which Pavi must protect before they collapse. Human and spirit enemies are hunting her, making the responsibility of becoming the Avatar even harder to carry.
Her long-lost twin sister, Nisha, is central to the story. Together, they must investigate their origins while trying to save what remains of their world. The official premise establishes that mystery without explaining every detail of their connection, leaving the series room to reveal it through the adventure.
The appeal of that setup is how personal it makes the larger conflict. Saving a threatened world is familiar territory for Avatar, but giving Pavi a sister and a contested identity brings another pressure into the journey. The family mystery could be just as compelling as the next bending showdown.
The Characters and Voices to Know
Saheli Khan voices Pavi, while Aishu Devan plays Nisha. Major Curda voices Jae, an Airbender who acts as Pavi’s mentor and friend. Akshay Khanna plays Karthik, with Sakina Jaffrey as Agam, Darren Barnet as Daemin and Dianne Doan as Zi.
There is also a familiar voice behind the animal companions. Dee Bradley Baker, who voiced Appa and Momo in The Last Airbender, plays the cat-monkeys Geet and Ruhi. Those companions give the new cast a link to one of the franchise’s most enjoyable traditions: strange creatures that become characters in their own right.
The Original Creators Are Back
Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko return as co-creators and executive producers. Seven Havens is a 2D animated series produced by Avatar Studios and Nickelodeon Animation Studios, with Ethan Spaulding as executive producer and Sehaj Sethi as co-executive producer.
The original order covered 26 half-hour episodes, divided between Books 1 and 2. Having the creators return is a reason to pay attention, although the new cast still needs space to establish its own relationships and conflicts. Pavi’s story has a stronger chance of standing on its own if viewers get to know her beyond the legacy she inherits.
When Do the Next Episodes Arrive?
Book 1 is releasing in batches on Paramount+. Episodes 1 to 3 arrived on October 9. Episodes 4 to 6 follow on October 16, episodes 7 to 9 on October 23, and the final four episodes, 10 to 13, on October 30. That makes October a complete rollout for the 13-episode first book.
Book 2 is confirmed with another 13 episodes, but its release date has not been announced. The October 9 New York Comic Con announcement added Books 3 and 4 to the series’ future, with further details still to come. Viewers can start the opening episodes now, but there is no confirmed timetable yet for the later books.
Why Seven Havens Is Worth Following
Pavi’s situation gives this chapter a promising source of tension: she needs to earn trust while trying to keep people alive. For returning fans, the draw is seeing what becomes of the Avatar’s role when its reputation has turned against it. For newcomers, the sisters’ search for answers offers a clear personal thread to follow.
The first three episodes are now available on Paramount+. With the rest of Book 1 arriving through October and more chapters confirmed, Seven Havens has begun a new stretch of the Avatar story with plenty left to uncover.
